Samarcand Training Academy Shoot House
The project consists of a multi-story, indoor shoot house to train law enforcement personnel on the use of lethal force within indoor environments using either simulation or live fire ammunition. The shoot house will have an adaptable dual-use floor plan that simulates residential, commercial, and educational building environments. These floor plans are supplemented by live-action, scenario-based lighting and sound effects relayed to modular target systems that can be placed at any location within the shoot house. In addition to a multifaceted floor plan, the shoot house is capped with an instructor catwalk, providing full oversight on the entire first floor.
The lead SWAT instructor and MW Studios worked hand in hand relying on the use of 3D virtual tours to ensure instructor line of sight and room sizes within the shoot house were both adequate and of the standards required by the training campus.
The culmination of the above mentioned features produces an training environment that is forward thinking, realistic, adaptable, for future needs of North Carolina DPS and Samarcand PD.
