Philadelphia Fire Academy
Master planning and existing conditions analysis for renovations, additions and/or new construction of the Philadelphia Fire Academy on an approximate seven-acre site. The master plan consists of program analysis and concept design for both the academic building, fire grounds buildings, and firefighter training props. Included within the academic building are the administrative offices, training classrooms, locker rooms, firefighter gear storage and apparatus storage. The fire grounds consist of both “Class A” and “Class B” live-fire burn buildings, a multi-story training tower, an indoor training warehouse for year-round training, and a multitude of firefighter training props. The entire site is set up to resemble a city block configuration to allow for as realistic as possible firefighter training evolutions.
