Lea County Law Enforcement Training Center
The Lea County Sheriff’s Office was recently granted 80 acres within the town of Lovington, New Mexico, to construct a new state-of-the-art public safety training campus. MW Studios was shortly after engaged in conducting master planning and schematic design efforts for the future campus. Current design and planning efforts have developed the following program to fit out of the 80-acre site: A 48,000 SF indoor firing range complete with a 12-lane 50-yard range, five-lane 100-yard range, shoot house, armory, weapons cleaning room, and various classroom/support spaces, a 4-acre tactical village complete with both commercial and residential blocks, 20-acre EVOC track, skid pad, 15 lane 50-yard range, and 350-yard sniper range, complete with observation tower.
This project is slated to be delivered in three distinct phases. Phase one will focus on initial site development, the indoor range/classroom building, the parking lot, and the outdoor 50—and 350-yard range.
