This project will renovate and update the Catonsville Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, built in 1962, to meet the modern needs of the community.

The library will feature a variety of new and improved public amenities designed to enhance the user experience. These include a dedicated teen room, public meeting spaces, accessible restrooms, and cozy reading areas. Fresh finishes, including custom digital murals, new LED lighting, and computer and laptop stations, will give the space a modern, welcoming feel. Updated book collections for children and adults, better soundproofing, and a state-of-the-art recording studio for music and podcasts are also part of the upgrades.

Essential infrastructure improvements will ensure the library operates efficiently behind the scenes. The team will replace the electrical system, install wireless internet access, and upgrade the heating and cooling system to an energy-efficient model. Plumbing upgrades will include water-saving fixtures and solutions to address ongoing maintenance challenges. A full sprinkler system will be added for enhanced safety, and employee work and break rooms will also be redesigned to improve functionality and comfort.

The Catonsville Library will undoubtedly be a community cornerstone, inspiring connection, learning, and creativity for generations to come.
