2021 ULI Baltimore Wavemaker Award
MW Studios designed a 37,500 SF facility that serves as the new home for Baltimore City Animal Services. The program includes housing for adoptable dogs, cats, small mammals, and reptiles, and public outreach spaces including hearing, meeting, adoption classroom, and obedience class training rooms. A veterinary clinic includes animal holding, exam and treatment rooms, and recovery spaces. There are animal intake and foster animal receiving and treatment areas and cat trap-neuter-return program intake and treatment areas. Administrative areas include Animal Control support and office spaces, administrative and staff offices, and support spaces. The site design includes secure animal exercise yards and walking trails throughout the wooded portions of the site, and public and staff parking areas.
