Harriet Elizabeth Brown Park & Community Center
MW Studios conducted a master planning analysis for a new 27 acre community park and 35,000 SF community center building, located in Prince Frederick, the seat of Calvert County. The project will be named for Harriet Elizabeth Brown, a civil rights pioneer hailing from Calvert County. The park is planned to accommodate a large community gathering space, outdoor tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, playgrounds, covered picnic pavilions, an ADA-compliant paved shared-use trail, as well as unpaved trails for hiking. The project entailed developing conceptual designs and schematic layouts for the community center building, which is slated to house 2 full-size indoor basketball courts, indoor volleyball courts, locker rooms, meeting rooms, exercise studios, an art studio, a community recording studio, kids zone, an indoor, elevated walking and running track, as well as administrative offices.
