American Water PEMB
This project building is intended to be the operational headquarters for American Water, a company that regulates and/or markets high quality water and wastewater to 15 million people across 45 U.S. states and parts of Canada.
This pre-engineered metal building has been designed to achieve at least LEED Silver certification. To enhance thermal efficiency, the structure is clad in brick and features a metal roof with a high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) to minimize heat gain. Our project team is deeply committed to sustainability, ensuring meticulous implementation and coordination of LEED principles throughout the design process. In fact, the application process has influenced our design decisions to better meet LEED requirements. For instance, we have adjusted the paving layout to create accessible pathways for users relying on public transportation to access nearby bus stops. Additionally, we have allocated 8,000 square feet of the site for undisturbed vegetated open space, preserving local natural habitats. Furthermore, we have optimized the building’s glazing to maximize natural daylight and enhance views within the interior.
