Manns Woodward Studios was commissioned to design a new 15,500 SF new EMS station for Tri-Towns EMS department in Westernport, Maryland. The first floor of the station includes an extensive Apparatus Bay which can house and support upwards of seven medic units. Also located on the ground level are daily operations areas such a classroom, kitchen, dayroom, fitness area, media/study. Unique to the department is a small playroom where family members of the volunteers will gather to further promote community and service. The second floor of the station functions both in administrative duties and as sleeping quarters. The administrative area has six offices for the president, vice president, chief, deputy chief, line officers, and secretary respectively. There also are other spaces that can be used for conferences and other such activities. The sleeping area of the building provides a community bunk zone, lockers, and six live-in dorms.
