Ribbon Cutting | March 19th, 2025
What was once the site of the legendary Bethlehem Steel is now a space for the community to gather, play, and connect. On March 19, 2025, Baltimore County officials, community members, and project partners cut the ribbon on Sparrows Point Park, officially opening a new chapter for this historic site.
MW Studios was proud to be part of this transformation, designing a park that honors the area’s industrial roots while creating new recreation opportunities. The park includes a synthetic turf sports field, walking trails, a pedestrian footbridge, a canoe/kayak launch, a boardwalk, a fishing/observation pier, a children’s playground, and an indoor recreation center.
The opening of Sparrows Point Park marks a major investment in public spaces—turning an industrial site into a place where people can connect with nature, stay active, and come together. Now open to the public, Sparrows Point Park is ready to welcome families, athletes, and neighbors to enjoy all it has to offer.
