Officials from the Maryland Department of General Services, Maryland State Police as well as retired troopers, dispatchers and civilian personnel gathered for a ceremonial ground breaking at the site of the new Maryland State Police Barrack in LaVale, Maryland. The new barrack will continue to serve the Allegany County area and provides an updated facility that enables the troopers to better serve their community. Manns Woodward Studios was selected to design the new barrack, which is replacing the 60-year-old barrack that had reached the end of its useful life. Construction is anticipated to be complete near the end of 2020. Representing Manns Woodward Studios at the ceremony was Vice-President and Principal Architect Rob Manns, Assistant Project Manager Lindsey Kiefer, and Construction Administrator Josh Noppenberger.
