MW Studios designed a new 22,000 SF Renovation and Addition within an existing structure for a non-profit organization tasked with providing more than 25 million pounds of food to hungry Marylanders each year. The project included the addition of a second-floor within the existing shell, the addition of 40+ offices, conference rooms and support areas. Open spaces promote teamwork and inter-office communication while natural light improves employee and volunteer productivity. The project scope also included the design of a church group mission food distribution center. Additional program space included locker rooms, community gathering areas, showers, and a fully functional fitness center for Maryland Food Bank Staff and Truck Drivers. Implementation of natural daylighting, energy-efficient lighting, providing high-quality indoor air, and other sustainable features. The final project was able to qualify as LEED Silver.
