Manns Woodward Studios was selected to design a new public safety training center for Carroll County’s first responder community and associated agencies. The design team was ultimately responsible for designing and master planning a 15 Million dollar training campus that will be constructed over the course of the next five years. Phase I of the project consists of the complete renovation and expansion to the County’s abandoned emergency operations center. Constructed in a cold war era bunker, the partially underground facility is slated to receive a new second floor and an adjacent community auditorium capable of seating upwards of 125 people. Program space within the expanded and renovated building consists of state-of-the-art technology being applied within three new classrooms, conference rooms, a range of offices, and various simulation rooms for emergency training purposes. The facility was designed with input from Carroll County Facilities, 16 Fire Departments, 3 police departments, the Maryland State Police, BGE (as an end user), and The Carroll County Health Department.
